Flocculant (Aluminum Sulfate)
Coagulating agent for swimming pool sanitization.
Product Details:
Alum, short for Aluminum Sulfate, is afast-acting flocculant used in extreme water treatment cases (green or cloudy pools). The addition of this chemical causes tiny suspended particles and impurities to attract, collide and trap together, and as a result, form heavier particles that sink to the bottom making it easier to vacuum.
Keep in mind that this is not a ‘pour-in-and-done’ product and will involve vacuuming and re-vacuuming, as the debris that settles to the bottom will likely stir up as you try to remove it.
Dosage:
For Cloudy or Slightly Green Water:
Add 200 grams for every 10,000 liters.
For Extremely Green Pools:
Add 500 grams for every 10,000 liters.
Add to the pool, allow water to circulate for 10-15 minutes, then switch off circulation pump – make sure there is little to no movement of water whatsoever for the next 24 hours. At the same time the next day, vacuum the pool with the multiport valve positioned to ‘waste’ - DO NOT PASS DEBRIS THROUGH THE FILTER.
For best results, ensure your chlorine level is between the recommended 1.0 and 3.0 ppm.
